This is my third ryijy, and I have to admit that I’m in the middle of a ryijy series now. I’m delving deeper into the abstracted fire cloud theme. I thought the world would be less “on fire” after the 2020 US presidential election, but the devolving political, social, and environmental realities seem to keep coming up with worse surprises. I will be exhibiting my fire cloud ryijy series at the Mältinranta Arts Centre in Tampere in November 2022. I am extending this ryijy series to ten rugs. This specific ryijy has been sold to a private collector.
